Discover & Request
Submit a structured request specifying the test type, technology, volume and any preferences. The request reaches one or more matched providers immediately, structured the same way regardless of which provider ultimately responds.
Compare & Quote
Each invited provider quotes from its own service catalogue, pricing and turnaround rules. You compare every quote side by side, on one screen, instead of piecing responses together from separate emails.
Contract
An NDA and a service agreement are tracked from pending to signed, using whichever signature method the relationship requires. Once terms are set, they don't need to be re-negotiated for every subsequent order.
Order
Accepting a quote creates a confirmed, auditable order. Pricing is frozen at this point — a snapshot, not a live reference — so what you agreed to is what you're billed, even if the catalogue changes later.
Samples
Samples are registered, shipped and tracked as batches against the order, with standardized identifiers instead of provider-specific formats. Both sides see the same shipment and intake status, in real time.
Track & QC
Lab-processing steps update the order's live status. QC results are recorded as structured metrics — pass/fail thresholds, not a static PDF — with explicit rework paths (re-prep, re-sequence, new sample) when something doesn't meet spec.
Secure Delivery
Results are delivered directly into your own storage and acknowledged inside the platform, with a full audit trail of who accessed what and when.
Analyze
Optional downstream analysis applications can be selected against the delivered data — pipelines, interpretation and reporting tools — without leaving the same operational record.

How It Fits

FedOMIX does not require a provider to replace their LIMS, pipelines, lab procedures or customer relationships. It provides the standardized external interface around them.

Most sequencing and multi-omics facilities run well below the capacity they've invested in. The Capacity Marketplace will connect open instrument time with demand that's already looking for it.
Providers will be able to expose unused sequencing, proteomics or transcriptomics time to customers already active on the network — filling schedule gaps with demand that already exists, at no additional sales cost.
